I am so incredibly grateful that a season as worthy as autumn follows the summer. Saying goodbye to the warmth and sunshine, the long, stretched out evenings, the dinners in the garden, the leaving the house in just a t-shirt, the smell of sun-cream, the garden produce and the holidays is always a tricky one. However, the wonders of autumn truly break us into the winter in style. Each of our senses is awakened and fired and here are just some of the reasons why:
A is for amber; oranges and yellows in every tree, bonfires, glowing sunsets and fiery skies
U is for unpredictable; one day glorious, the next never-ending rain
T is for turning cold; first frosts, big
jumpers, thankful for mum knits
U is for the unmistakable reminder of the
circle of life; life is changeable; life has momentum; life always moves
forward never back
M is for mellow fruits; ripe for harvest,
apples, pears, acorns and hazelnuts, rowen and hawthorn berries, sloes and
rosehips, pumpkins
N is for the nights drawing in; hunkering
down, the smell of wood fires, welcoming cups of hot tea
So much to be thankful for.
